Subete ga F ni naru: The Perfect Insider
Episode Three: Red Magic
Well, this episode is where things start to take off.
We learn immediately that the creepy 'doll' from the end of the last episode isn't even a doll at all;
It's the corpse of Migata.
She's dressed in a wedding dress, her legs and arms cut off.
The people of the facility automatically assume that the murderer must still be inside the room.
But here's where it gets interesting.
This is a room that has been closely monitored for 15 years- No one has left or entered it.
As far as everyone is aware, there is only one entrance.
So how did the murderer enter?
And how did they leave?
And how did they leave?
This is a mystery.
They go to contact the police, but of course all the communication systems aren't working.
We find out that the system runs on it's own operating system called "Red Magic".
We also learn that the inability to contact the outside world isn't just a bug; it's something someone must have specifically coded into the system to happen on a certain time and date.
In other words, this has been planned for yonks.
In other words, this has been planned for yonks.
The director of the facility returns with Magata's younger sister Miki;
Miki is a lot more mature and looks older than her sister.
They send the director (who arrived via helicopter) to use the radio to contact the police, however later on they return to find him murdered.
Lastly, in this episode, we learn of something.... else.
Throughout all the episodes, we have seen flashbacks of a 13 year old Magata, with her uncle.
Being the genius that Magata is, her mannerisms are a lot more adult-like than childish.
In this episode, we learn that Magata may have been taken advantage of by her uncle.
The room puzzle is an interesting one; I look forward to seeing it's conclusion.
My gut is telling me that it is in fact all somehow a ruse by Magata herself.
We shall see, I guess.
I rate this episode 8/10.
